ALERT: Revised Criminal Record Expungement Law has been signed by Governor Snyder and is now on the books!
HB 4186, as it is known, has now been signed by the Governor. This statute provides for the setting aside of convictions in certain cases. Prior to this law being enacted you could only request the setting aside of a conviction if you had one, and only one, criminal conviction. The new law provides for the setting aside of multiple convictions and now allows many who not have been allowed to set aside a conviction to do so.
